She’s an actor of repute and is a member of parliament. Now KirronKher has stepped into a new role. KirronKher is the sutradhar of KitniGirhainBaakiHain, which airs on ZEE’s new entertainment channel – Zindagi.

KitniGirhainBaakiHai, an episodic series, throws light on various issues relevant to women in our society, it brings out unseen facets of the lives and emotions of women across ages and classes who are often bound by society’s idea of them and fettered by its expectations.

About the title of the show, Kirron says she loves it, “The title has been taken from Gulzar Saab’s poem of the same name. It means how many layers are yet to be unfolded. I’ll be doing the prologue and summing up the story by talking to the viewers. Problems that women face, both here and there, are similar. The stories delve into women empowerment and human relationships. The show raises issues without preaching and creates awareness.”

What prompted her to accept the offer? “The treatment meted out to women is the same everywhere. Each episode of the show highlights this fact. They wanted me for this role and readily accepted it. The content on Pakistani TV is good; their shows are natural and real.People can now watch these shows officially.”

Kirron feels privileged to be the only Indian face on channel. “My parents were from Punjab, in Pakistan. We had land there which were reallocated after partition. So I belong to that area which got divided and suffered. I feel connected with people there and have friends there too. This is a good beginning.”
