Mouni Roy

Mouni Roy who is winning accolades for her performances in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa feels that Teachers Day is special. She says, “My favourite teacher was Jha Sir who used to teach us Hindi in school. Before everything else, I have learnt goodness of heart from him. I love literature so both my English and Hindi teachers were my favourites. In college I did English honours so used to look forward to pretty much all the lectures and tutorials. On being asked about whom she considers her teacher in the TV industry, she says, “ In the TV industry the first person I learnt from was Smriti Irani. I was made wary of her in the beginning but she turned out to amongst those very few who was extremely kind and patient with me, treated me with ice creams and I even borrowed books from her. I remember her showing me how to say my lines or where to take pauses. It was a great bind and great help.”
