 Gujarat or Maharashtra cud not be compared on the basis of any statements but it would happen on the basis of data.

Narendra Modi is good at marketing techniques of figures. He managed to trick the country. But Modi did not succeed just because of the Gujarat model.

Maharashtra’s 18 percent of land is irrigated where as Haryana and Punjab   approximately irrigates 90 percent of their land. Still we braved every natural disaster that we faced but we did not do marketing of that.

We are in power in Maharashtra from the past 15 years, thus it is obvious that people of the state found us better than the Sena – BJP alliance. However, during the Lok Sabha elections the people were quite angry with the UPA government, Now the anger has faded.

In the local body elections before the Modi wave we won 58 percent of the seats, and they won 28 percent of the total seats offered. But in the last moment we suffered because of people’s outrage for UPA.

We have done huge work in the Infrastructure sector in the last 5 years.

We had to take people into confidence. We are working on monorail, metro rail and expressway project.

Maharashtra's first priority is to increase irrigated land. Irrigation scam has also happen in the state. The judiciary is looking into the matter. There have been mistakes by us also like issuing tenders under political pressure. Now there is shift in our policy.

Today also 80 thousand projects are underway with the whole system. Tenders have been issued.

 

I was sent to Maharashtra from Delhi with a responsibility. Maharashtra was breaking then, there was no administration. I believed in bringing in good people that’s the way system change and work efficiently.  My achievement is that I have fulfilled many stuck promises.

 

On Coalition Govt:

 

Congress was divided in 1999 and NCP was born. Since then, we have fought five elections together, 3 Lok Sabha and 2 Assembly. We will fight the sixth as well collectively. Talks are on regarding seat adjustment in both the parties. Everyone has their own reasoning.

 

This election is for Maharashtra not for Modi. People will judge according to experience. Modi has his own problems, Shivsena doesn’t have experience to run the govt, Sena was in power between 1995 and 1999. Then Uddhav had no role. They are running the Corporation for years now and it How it is run is not hidden from the people of the state.

 

Reservations

 

Provision of reservation to people of the land in Maharashtra was given after a basic report came in. This is for the upliftment of the people of the state not a vote bank politics.

 

Our priority is not Mumbai or rural Maharashtra, we believe in equal and balanced growth of all. We do not want to be compared with Gujarat, and our vision is to reach to the last men of the state.  

 

Congress-NCP alliance will go for election together and I'll be the face of this coalition.  Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Dr. Manmohan Singh will be our star campaigner.

 

Now, we have understood the poll plans of Modi and we are quite vigilant this time. The face of the alliance would be announced very soon.
