The only thing that overcomes hard luck is hard work and Vikram Chatterjee, the second runner-up of Cera India’s Best Cine Star Ki Khoj will definitely vouch for it. Exactly a week after the finale of ZEE TV’s acting talent hunt show, Vikram Chatterjee has landed a role in the channel’s popular fiction drama Doli Armaanon Ki.

Vikram enters the show as Yash Singhania, a NRI Lawyer from London, who comes to meet his friend’s parents in India - the Tiwaris played by Himani Shivpuri and Raju Kher.  He comes to India with a hidden agenda that people around him are unable to decipher. Even though he was born and bred in India, he somehow detests everything about the country and looks down upon it. Straight forward, somewhat blunt and practical, Yash is unable to connect and understand the over-emotional Indians.

Even though Vikram did not emerge as the winner of the talent hunt show, his fine acting abilities were noticed by the channel and the producers of the show Doli Armaanon Ki.  Soon he was asked to give a look test for the new character and in less than seven days he was shortlisted and asked to report for the shoot. An overjoyed Vikram exclaimed, “Miracles do happen and what has happened with me in the past couple of days is nothing short of one. It’s truly unbelievable how within a week of the finale, ZEE TV has given me a chance to work in one of their most watched primetime shows.  The show Doli Armaanon Ki has a host of senior, veteran actors and I’m sure it will be a great learning experience. The channel has been really kind in giving me this opportunity and I hope the audiences will enjoy my character and the new twist in the show that I will bring!”.

The show’s current track sees Urmi, played by Neha Marda, who has walked out of her in-law’s house, staying at the Tiwari’s due to a turn of events. The story will now focus on Vikram’s character Yash Singhania getting to meet Urmi and the changes he will bring to her life.
