The thrill and elation that comes with Diwali each year is slowly concluding but for all of us here at The Indian Television Academy (ITA) another buzz, which was underway, has now taken over. THE ITA AWARDS 2014… A celebration of 14 successful years as the undisputed leader when it comes to recognizing and honoring talent in the Indian Television Industry, the country’s ultimate TV Award Show which has repeatedly gotten overwhelming support from the Industry, the online voters, the media and audiences worldwide is finally here. November 1st 2014 is the day, block the date and get ready to be enchanted as always. Your darlings of the TV industry will be present in practically their entirety, to perform, to give accolades, to be honored and to delight you as they constantly have. Details will, of course, follow in our next issue so watch this space too.

Polls too have just concluded in two big states. At the time of our going to press, BJP was largely in control and slated to form the government in both states. For all the skeptics out there, you might as well concede now that there is a Modi wave somewhere out there. Worthwhile to sit back and enjoy it for all the good it brings and from the look of things there’s certain to be plenty of that.

On the sports front too, there’s been loads of “local” action, which has positively been a change in the right direction. From the Pro Kabaddi League to India’s performance at Incheon (with India winning the Hockey final against Pakistan being the icing on the cake) to the Indian Super League. There is truly ample sporting talent present in our country all that was lacking was somebody to nurture it. The encouragement and support coming from quarters such as film celebrities, corporate houses and sporting bodies is truly appreciated and we just hope it’s not the flavor of the season. Constant backing is and will be the need of the hour for years to come so let’s hope all are here for the long haul.

“Bigg Boss Season 8” with its twists and turns at every corner, a few other new fiction story shows and Zee’s novel offering “Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale” searching for India’s happiest dancer are a must watch this month.

On that happy note, it’s goodbye for now. Hope you had a brilliant Diwali and here’s looking forward to the little peace and calm we can have just before the euphoria of winter holiday season arrives. Until next time, happy reading!
