When Gautam Sharma, the reel life Dushyanta of the very successful series ‘Shakunthala’ was invited for dinner with the King of Jogjakarta, little did he know that he would be experiencing the most overwhelming response from a country that does not speak Hindi. Women in Indonesia went head-over-heels when they came face to face with the television industry’s famous face – our very own Gautam Sharma. His presence created frenzy and hysteria among women. Gautam was in the city to promote the serial. The royal hospitality over the dinner was organized to celebrate the 22nd year anniversary of the TV channel AN with a show called ‘Bollyvaganza’

The star who featured in TV serials Grihasthi (Star Plus), Vivah (Zee) and Shakuntala (Star One) has started a health management company ‘Youdoo’. A fitness freak and trained dancer, Gautam is a Grasim Mr India 2006 finalist. Will he make a comeback to serials? “I am currently focussed on making my venture a success, not waiting for the right opportunity. There are offers for casting, which I feel are stereotype. If there is something interesting, I will explore.”
