Manmarzian's Dadaji is TV's oldest actor!

90 year old Vidyadhar Karmarkar, who plays dadaji in STAR Plus’ new show Manmarzian is the oldest actor on television. Such is his spirit that even after falling sick in the freezing cold weather of Rishikesh, he refused to stop the shoot to come back to Mumbai.

He shot in Rishikesh for 2 months with the cast and crew and the production house had to take extra precaution regarding his health as he is the oldest working actor on television. He also fell ill during the shoot in Rishikesh but refused to come back to Mumbai so was provided with a Doctor by his side throughout in Rishikesh.

Vidyadhar Karmarkar is a known name in the world of drama and acting. He has also directed many shows. We asked him what is his motivation to work at this age and he said, “Is there anything better to do? I would prefer to be onscreen than sit at home and watch people be onscreen. Also my role is not a typical, dependent, depressed old grandfather. I am a dreamer who likes to dream and support others to pursue their dreams so it’s a fun role”.
