The First edition of National Yash Chopra Memorial Award was announced yesterday at a press conference at J W Marriot instituted by TSR Foundation of Dr. T. Subbarami Reddy (MP) in association. with Anu & Shashi Ranjan of Gr8! Entertainment.

The Award will carry a Rs. 10 lakhs(Ten Lakhs) cheque and citation to be bestowed upon an eminent personality in field of music, acting and film making. The jury comprising of Mr. Anil Kapoor, Ms. Hema Malini, Ms. Simi Garewal and Dr. Reddy decided to confer the award on Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar for her contribution to music and films.

The felicitation ceremony will be held on Oct 19th 2013 at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. in association with Anu and Shashi Ranjan of Gr8! Entertainment.

Dr Reddy said that "This award will be on the lines of Dadasaheb Phalke award and we are convinced that late Yash Chopraji's credibility will have a resonance with the whole of India."
