Moved by stories of grief-struck children who lost their parents and all supporting life-lines due to the catastrophe in Uttarakhand, superstar Madhuri Dixit has been consistently trying to do her bit to help build the lives of the flood-ravaged victims.

The legendary actress will be lending her support to Star India’s initiative ‘Saath Hai Hum Uttarakhand’, a seven-hour marathon fund-raiser on Aug. 15, aimed at providing a ray of hope to the children of Uttarakhand. When Madhuri learnt of Star India’s movement of raising hope by sharing Uttarakhand’s sorrows, she did not hesitate to come forth and volunteer to be a part of this thoughtful initiative.

Madhuri, a mother herself, was touched by the stories of children affected by the floods and are forced to rebuild their lives from scratch at a young age. Using her strength and fan-following, Madhuri Dixit will directly reach out to her followers urging them to take a step towards returning smiles to Uttarakhand‘s children. Star India and Hindi Film Industry’s initiative will go a long-way to help wipe the tears of Uttarakhand‘s children.

Besides Madhuri Dixit, other supporting the initiative include Indian cinema’s icons Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Anil Kapoor, AR Rahman, Boman Irani,  Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Pritam, Prasoon Joshi, Mukesh Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurana and celebrities from top television shows of the Star network such as ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’, ‘Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara’, ‘Saraswatichandra’, ‘Savdhaan India’, ‘Devon Ke Dev Mahadev’ and ‘India’s Dancing Superstars’ among others.

Star India's fund-raiser will be a seven-hour marathon event on the occasion of Independence Day in what's the first such effort by the entertainment industry to alleviate the sufferings of people impacted by the floods. The event will be aired on all key channels of Star India network including flagship Star Plus, Life OK, Star Utsav, Star Pravah and Channel V.
