And revelries are in the air again… Ganesh Chaturti has just concluded, the Navratris, Durga Puja & Dusherra are just around the corner and a dhoom dhadaka Diwali is set to follow. There’s a nip that’s started in the air, the sights, the sounds & the smell around us are distinctively unique… A sort of joyfulness seems to spread around… Aah, I simply love this time of the year! And this year, 2013, has another super special celebration scheduled for the same period; The 13th Indian Television Academy (ITA) Awards 2013 so we’re delirious, to say the least!

THE ITA AWARDS 2013… The super successful TV award event, the only one in India that has mind-boggling numbers supporting it... From 1850 entries for over 3000 nominations received this year, to over 5 lakh people voting online, to over 500 award recipients, to over 300 artists performing, to over 12,000 live audience each year, to over 450 million viewers worldwide, to over 1000 hours of electronic media coverage and over 1 lakh cc area print coverage… the list just goes on! Many thanks to one and all for your encouragement and do look out for the special effects of this great show in our next issue!

If it can get any more thrilling, there’s also the 1st National Yash Chopra Memorial Award planned and scheduled for mid October this year. This great event is an endeavor of Dr. T. Subbarami Reddy, MP in association with Shashi Ranjan & myself here at GR8! Entertainment. The Award has been instituted in Yash ji’s name with the vision to commemorate the late legend’s historic contribution to Indian Cinema. It has been planned as an annual celebration. Each year, one such personality that has changed the face of Indian Cinema will be awarded. A highly distinguished Jury has been formed for the 2013 awards, for zeroing in on the inaugural year’s Awardee. The jury itself comprises some of the biggest names like Anil Kapoor, Hema Malini, Simi Garewal and Dr. Reddy himself. To institute such an award in this 100th year of Indian Cinema is a big measure of service to the Medium. The need to confer honor and accord recognition to Cinematic excellence has been long felt, particularly through an authentic organization with truly genuine persons behind it. Indeed, it took a true visionary like Dr. T. Subbarami Reddy to envisage such an occasion for the glory of Indian Cinema and we’re immensely proud to be a part of it too. Details and total gup-shup about this event will be carried in our November issue so make sure you look out for that too!

On that joyful note, I bid you adieu for now. Cheerful Holidays to you – do enjoy yourselves and be good. Until next time, happy reading!
