Oh, what a month it’s been… festivals and celebrations round-the-clock! From the super fruitful launch of the first Yash Chopra Memorial Award by Dr. T. Subbarami Reddy in association with us (truly an event to remember), to the stupendously successful spectacle that was the 13th Indian Television Academy (ITA) Awards 2013. Thank you all so much, my friends, my colleagues here at The ITA & GR8! and all our other supporters for making our dreams come true!

The winner of the Yash Chopra Memorial Award, a personality selected by a highly distinguished jury, was an individual who literally changed the face of Indian Cinema. The Who’s Who of the film industry was present when Lata Mangeshkar was conferred the honor at the event and all rejoiced at the show. Check out the glittering turnout in the pages that follow.

The 13th ITA Awards 2013 which followed barely a week after was grandeur, it was glory and greatness personified. The Indian television world was present in its entirety and for their overwhelming support we are eternally grateful. Fashion and style was all pervading – the Red Carpet hasn’t seen it like this ever before. Entertainment, too, was like never before; performances were amazing and the host, Kapil Sharma from Comedy Nights with Kapil, was a riot, literally a laugh a second. He had the audience enthralled and in splits from start to finish. Specifics and total gupshup are in the pages that follow… don’t miss out! Hope those who couldn’t be there caught the telecast on Diwali night on Star Plus. If you didn’t, it’s on our website, www.gr8mag.com

Other than that, given that election time in four major states is just around the corner, the airwaves have been dominated primarily by the speeches of NaMo and RaGa, the analyses of these speeches and debates on them. Yes, Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement has been a topic of great discussion too. Reports re-living his days and years gone by and the excitement building up prior to his last cricketing performance have been taking up a fair amount of airtime.

On that exciting note, I bid you bye-bye for now. Season’s greetings to you all, may abundant joy, happiness and prosperity be coming your way all year round – and until next time, happy reading!
