Let's hit 2014 for a Six!

Another month, another year, the concluding chapter of 2013 comes to a close. As always, life’s been beautiful but optimism and hope being an intrinsic part of my nature, I can’t help but say that I’m looking forward to heaps more and to better times coming my way in 2014. Yes, we’ve all come a long way baby, but like me, I’m certain there’s many of you who believe that there is so much still to be done and thus, here’s wishing the coming year encompasses all of our work getting accomplished, all of our efforts bearing fruition and all of our ultimate hopes and dreams getting realized. Happy 2014 everybody!

Looking back, 2013 was an interesting year that saw transformation of many kinds taking place, from our cricket team and our political classes to our attitude, our beliefs, our convictions and our mindsets. We’ve become more confident as a people; we’re discovering our birthrights, we understand the power of these rights now and we’re leaving no stone unturned in fighting till we get them. We’re standing up against dishonesty; exploitation, immorality and corruption of any kind are not acceptable any longer. It doesn’t matter where you come from, how financially well off or how politically connected you are, you are no longer a “nobody”. We’re all equal now, in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of each other and total thanks for this goes to our 24-hour New Channels. Our TV media has become the crusader of the day and everyone knows the channels can be counted on to help get timely
justice. Even if they are not approached, culprits know they are accessible and that is making all watch their steps. Kudos to all my friends in all the TV News Channels in every language across the nation! You’ve done a fantastic job. Keep it up and always stay rational and impartial… We need you!

Other than that, lots of excitement coming from the sets of the Bigg Boss, Kapil Sharma and Anil Kapoor in the desi version of 24. India’s Got Talent is rocking too with circus acrobats and professionals performing for the first time on Indian TV. Star World Premiere too has stolen quite a few eyeballs away from other channels
with popular American shows coming to us simultaneously as they air in the US. Talking of “stolen”, Star World Premiere has taken away quite a bit of business of Internet providers too. Lesser people are downloading pirated versions of these shows now; they’re all actually enjoying waiting that whole week to see the next episode. Well, it’s teaching us patience for sure, if nothing else.

On that joyful note, ta-ta for now. Wish you all a terrific 2014 with loads of love, happiness and contentment coming your away… Until next time, happy reading!
