Five years after the breakthrough success of Sholay, director Ramesh Sippy once again teamed up with Amitabh Bachchan for a superlative epic of action, adventure, comedy, romance and drama. The movie has an ensemble cast with stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Sunil Dutt, Shatrughan Sinha, Raakhee, Parveen Babi, Bindiya Goswami and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.

DSP Shiv Kumar (Sunil Dutt) is a diligent and honest police officer in Bombay, India. He lives with his wife (Raakhee), a son and two wayward brothers, Ravi (Shashi Kapoor) and Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan), who are con-men, and will anything for a quick buck. When Shiv Kumar is killed…it’s then that Ravi and Vijay give up their waywardness to find out who killed their brother, and avenge his death. Will Ravi and Vijay be able to avenge the death of their elder brother or will they also fall into the trap of international drug lord – Shakaal (Kulbhushan Kharbanda)?
