Farah Tells You What a Happy Dancer is!

Farah Khan
Farah Khan

Farah Khan is a woman of many talents but nothing stirs her soul more than dance. It doesn’t come as a surprise, then, that she’s agreed to be a part of Zee TV’s latest dance reality show ‘Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale’ – a hunt for India’s happiest dancer. Quiz her on what a ‘happy dancer’ really is and she looks to Bollywood for examples.

“Dancers can be brilliant on two levels – either they can floor you with their technique, their natural sense of rhythm, the cleanliness of their moves and their sheer prowess over a particular dance style. Or they could be a part of another distinct breed that can bring a smile to your face, despite their limited command over any specific style. They just look at dance as an outlet for expressing all the joy they hold within. They dance with sheer aplomb, without the slightest inhibition, as if no one were watching. Bollywood has seen some exceptionally gifted technical dancers and some who fall in the latter category. Our new show on Zee TV – Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale looks out for the happiest dancers whose inner joy is so infectious that they spread cheer as soon as they begin to move. When I look back at some of the most iconic dancers Bollywood has seen over the years, I would like to think of Shammi Kapoor, Govinda, Dharmendra, Jitendra and more recently Ranveer Singh as actors who belong to this school of dancing.” She adds, “Happy New Year, as a film, also centers around non-dancers attempting to participate in a world dancing championship. And they manage to do so purely with the happiness in their dancing. So, in that sense, both our film as well as the show, are a celebration of happy dancing!”

Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale will be India’s first ever multi-city dance tour in search of the happiest dancer! Conducted through a joyride on a special ‘Happy Dancing’ bus, the tour will reach Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Indore in the coming days with a star-studded panel called the ‘Agents of Happiness’ comprising none other than Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Farah Khan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah. Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale, as a platform, calls for entries from dance enthusiasts across the length and breadth of the country to send in their ‘Happy Dancing’ videos and the shortlisted dancers will win an opportunity to showcase their acts in front of the ‘Agents of Happiness’.

Namit Sharma, Programming Head, Zee TV says “With Dance India Dance, we celebrated dance as an art form. With ‘Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale’, we celebrate it as a ‘heart’ form. It’s the first-of-its-kind television show to set out on a multi-city bus ride in search of the happiest dancer. We’re extremely pleased to partner with Shah Rukh in bringing this proposition alive. We’ll have on board the most impressive panel of celebrities including Shah Rukh, Deepika, Abhishek, Farah, Sonu, Boman and Vivan who’ll step in as agents of happiness, judging the show. The core idea behind the show is to look at dance as a means and an outlet to express all the joy, life, spunk and happiness you have within you. We are not looking for trained dancers who’re perfect with their technique, we’re looking for that contestant who can bring a smile on to people’s faces with their happy dancing. So, it’s time for India to just jump on to this joyride and celebrate the happiness of dancing!”

With the hottest celebrity panel ever on Indian television, an all-new genre of dancing and the first-of-its-kind dance tour with a mission to spread joy and happiness across the country, Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale, promises to be the biggest entertainment extravaganza this Diwali!

‘Maruti Suzuki Alto K 10 Dil Se Naache Indiawale Copowered by Askmebazaar.com & L’Oreal Paris Fall Repair 3X’ is slated to go on air in October only on Zee TV.
