Madhuri and Mahira Khan

While people know about how Bollywood Diva Madhuri Dixit inspired Pakistani actress Mahira Khan to take on acting as a profession, it is not known to many that the director of Humsafar Sarmad Sultan Khoosat is also a huge admirer of the Bollywood star too. Such was his obsession with Madhuri that during the shoot of the show, Sarmad began calling Mahira ‘Ganga’, which was Madhuri’s character’s name in Ram Lakhan. Every time she would give a good shot, he would exclaim ‘Waah Ganga Waah!’ Little did Sarmad know that he would start a trend. The word spread like fire and everyone on the set started addressing Mahira as Ganga. Sarmad, upon learning this was amused and announced that he has given the nickname and only he reserves the right to call her. Incidentally, Mahira also decided to take up acting as a profession only after watching Madhuri’s performance in Ram Lakhan.
