The 15th ITA Awards!

On 6th September 2015, Mumbai's iconic Film City had an added sheen to it when the biggest night of the Indian Small Screen was held there with all its unparalleled pageantry, i.e., ‘The Indian Television on Academy Awards’. Now touching a historic 15th year of glorious run as TV's prime-most event, it is regarded as an annual festival of joy by the entire fraternity of the medium. Year after year, it has been conferring honours on the achievers of exceptional excellence on the canvas of Television.

In this 15th year, The ITA has made it more celebratory rather than as the usual yearly contest and the honours have been confined to the most ‘popular’ Shows and performers. Hence, the millions of TV-watchers out there take centre-stage this time and there most favourites have been accorded recognition by the Academy.

At the event, the entire razzle-dazzle of the Set and the blinding streams of lights was enhanced by sizzling performances of TV-hotties like Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Krystle D’Souza, Sonia Balani, Lauren Gottlieb, Priyanshu Jora, Karanvir Bohra, Shakti Arora, etc. To cap it, there was Mika with his powerhouse crooning of his chartbusters.

And the surprise of the evening was a stunning performance of Anushka Ranjan & Diganth, the charming young leads of the upcoming romantic comedy, 'Wedding Pullav' that drew clamorous claps and seetees from an audience going into raptures over their steaming chemistry.

An apparently delighted producer, Shashi Ranjan, who is also the Convener of The ITA, said, 'There couldn't have been a better platform than The ITA Awards for the first appearances of our leads in public. Besides being a hugely popular gala in the Entertainment Industry, it is also the most widely covered in both Print as well as Electronic media, which is sure to the a shot is the arm for the promotion of our film, 'Wedding Pullav', which is slated for release on the 16th October, '15!'

Co-producer, Anu Rajan (President, The ITA and Editor, GR8!) spoke enthusiastically about celebrating the 15th year of The ITAA - 'We are extremely pleased as well as humbled at crossing this milestone. To enjoy the unqualified trust & goodwill of the entire TV-fraternity for a decade and a half is a great feather in our cap and that's why the tenor of the Award this year is more celebratory than anything else, in which the viewer's preference takes centre-stage! And trust us, we would go on striving our hardest to keep earning this trust for many more decades to come!’ The evening was awash with Celebs of all hues.
