Will  Aakanksha Singh  replace  Drashti   Dhami in Ekta’s new  Star Plus show ?

 Will Aakanksha Singh replace  Drashti Dhami in the new Balaji Telefilms produced Star Plus show ? Recently there were press reports which suggested that Ekta Kapoor might have selected Drashti who was last seen in  Zee  TV show Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani.  It was also reported that Drasthi had also  shot the promo for the same.    

When we buzzed Akaansha Singh of  Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha , she confirmed having done a mock shoot for the above show. “ But  I have no updates on the same.  I will be very happy if  I am selected for the role. ”

If  Akaansha does replace Drashti, it will indeed be a big coup for her. Drashti  is a bigger name of the two, having won  Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 as well. She also was the face of the hit  Colors show  Madhubala.  Akaansha  who had taken a break after Na Bole 2  was seen earlier this year  in Gulmohar Grand, which unforutuantely  did not complete its stipulated  26 episodes run due to very low  TRPS.   Interestingly   when Ek Tha Raja had  first started   Drashti had claimed that the show will open to around 3  TVR.   Unfortunately  it never rated that much and eventually  she quit the show a few months back  for she did not want to play mother on screen. 

The above  Star Plus show  which  might see  Shaleen  Malhotra  as the main male lead will go on the  the floors soon in Austria.  It  is said to be loosely based on Manju Kapoor fourth novel , The  Immigrant.   Ekta  seems to like  Manju’s works , her other  hit show  Ye Hai Mohabbatein was based on the above author’s best seller Custody,when it first started in late 2013.

We tried to get in touch with   Ekta  for the same,  but could not get  a response.   Ditto with  Drasthi .
