The much delayed Kaun Banega Crorepati 9, hosted by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Sony Entertainment Television, which was to  take place some time this year, has been scrapped for now.  According to sources, the creative team has not been able to find some new angle to entice the viewers. Producer Siddharth Basu confirmed the same saying ,“ KBC will not happen this year,  about 2017 maybe,  Sony will decide.”

Interestingly  KBC could have helped shore up Sony numbers, post the success of their marquee show The Kapil Sharma Show.

KBC changed the face of Indian TV  back in 2000  with it’s strong run on Star  Plus .The baton changed to Shah Rukh Khan in 2007, but Big B returned in 2010, when  the show shifted from  Star Plus to  Sony.
