Comedy is not everybody's cup of tea - Amruta Khanvilkar

Actress Amruta Khanvilkar is currently a part of Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza. A tete - a tete with the actress:

This is the first time you have tried your hands in comedy. How was your experience?
Yes, this is the first time I am trying my hands in comedy and I love it. People around have been encouraging.

Did you have some reservations before you signed the show?
Most of the people on the show are either stand-up comedians or those who have worked with them before. But I did not have any sort of reservations because as an actor you should not limit yourself to anything.

Was it difficult to fit in?
Yes, because comedy is not everyone's cup of tea but I think I fitted in well.

How was it working with Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh?
They are outstandingly positive people. I love Bharti. I got to learn a lot from her. Krushna’s energy is infectious.

How did winning dance reality show Nach Baliye impact your career?
Winning Nach Baliye has boosted my career in all possible ways.

Is dancing still part of your life or was it limited to the show only?
It is still a large part of my life. I can see myself dancing on various events in both Marathi as well as Hindi industry. But yes, it has not been as rigorous as it was in Nach Baliye.

You have been part of movies both Marathi and Hindi, reality shows, finite series and now a comedy show. What have you enjoyed doing themost and why?
I love working in all mediums because it has given me different roles. But my favourite has been my Marathi film Katyar Kaljat Ghusali, where I played a Muslim girl and the role of Antara Mane Shinde in Anil Kapoor’s finite series 24.

Have you considered doing a daily soap?
No I have not considered doing daily soaps as of now. I am in a happy space.

Any other show on television you would love to be part of?
I wanted to be a part of 24 and this season I got the opportunity.

What is your favourite show on television?
I love watching Koffee With Karan.

Apart from Comedy Nights Bachao Tazaa, do you have any other projects?
I have some Marathi projects lined up but I cannot divulge much details right now.
