Mouni Roy is one of the hottest TV actors of our time. Her position as the numero uno TV babe was reinforced when she won the most popular award at the recent ITA Award for her Colors show Naagin.

We caught up with Mouni  for a quick talk on what she feels about winning the award. “Felt so  good as it was my first award and all firsts are special. Getting the most popular award is a high for it is indicative that  fans appreciate your acting and the show. Even when I was not doing daily shows and would just go to awards shows to perform, I would be very thrilled when actors would get awards. It's a vindication of the hard work daily show actors put in to meet stiff telecast deadlines.”

When asked about critical backlash the show gets? "I don’t want to comment on that.  I  come on set on time,  rehearse  my lines  and do what my director wants me to do. As for people not liking it, you cant please  all. Having said that  if you make an issue out of our fantasy plot, even hit international shows like Game of  Thrones,  Twilight  and Vampire Dairy etc belong to the same genre. We don’t say Icchadhari Naagin’s real, we are just telling a story which is number 1 on  the rating.”

So is Naagin a turning point in your career? “ Not really, but a very  important show. I thank Ekta maam for giving me chance to play Shivanya and Shivangi. Audience love makes me happy for it shows that my acting, dancing skills  have only got better with time. ”
