My daughter wanted me to start acting again - Tasneem Sheikh

Vamp queen Tasneem Sheikh, who had impressed one & all with her performances in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kkusum, Kumkum and Kasauti Zindagi Kay is back with &TV show ‘Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhiafter a 8 year break post motherhood.  “It is good to be back and I really did not find it tough, it did not look I was away for so long, things have been a breeze. I guess it is also the comfort levelto work with Nivedita Basu, with whom I had done most of my  Balaji Telefilms projects. ”

Did you miss the arc lights during the break ? “ No this break was my own decision.  I needed to be with my daughter Tia , as my sailor husband is out most of the time. It was important that I was there with her during her formative  years.  I did not want to be accused of being over ambitious at her cost.”

So what made you come back? “Well Tia did not know that I was an actor, but she found out from her school mates. She then started persuading me to get back. However, I make sure that she does not suffer. I drop her to school and then come to shoot. I am also back home before her dinner. Today thanks to remote tech, I keep a hawk’s eye at the happenings at home. Here, I must give full credit to my in- laws who have been very cooperative. My father-in-law picks her up from school.”

The unit does not have a trouble since you leave early?  “No, for they know that I end up giving 15 hours of output in just ten hours.” Talking about her glamorous avatar in the show, she says,“ I always look good. I play a woman who can’t think beyond her child, which leads to a situation. Where would you find  2 mother in laws in a show. Do watch it for we all are working very hard to keep  you entertained.”
