Eijaz Khan, who is doing Sony TV's Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, laments the current state of casting on TV. “The most non actor stars are making huge amounts of money. One does not know what works or does not, sometimes I wish to ask them which coffee they sip in Starbucks. Unfortunately, some of the most talented lot of actors are sitting at home. I guess you just don’t need to be good in your craft, there are other variables as well. I don’t fret over things, which I have no control. I have been lucky to have worked for 4 years in Balaji Telefilms(Kahiin To Hoga, Kkavyanjali and Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa) to prove my skills and garner a certain amount of success" Asked as to what has made him survive so long, Eijaz said "I always make it a point to keep learning new stuff.”
Eijaz, who had taken a Bollywood detour for a while says ,“ While films are the ideal platform, it is also a fun experience. Also the standard of detailing and excellence is much higher than TV.” But he admitted cinema did not work out for him. "I got to work with biggies like Dharmesh Darshan, yet the sunk project took a lot of my time.Meerabai Not Out released on the night of Mumbai terror attacks, so sometimes things are not in your control. Back then I would feel bad about it but I don’t ponder on it anymore. ”
He also wanted to direct a web series, “But the entire demonetization period cramped us in Nov and Moh Moh Ke Dhaage is now taking my time, so the plan is on hold.” As his character in the show is a 42 year who is getting married, what does he feel about such people since he is also single? “ As for as my village headman character is concerned, he was so overtaken by responsibilities that settling down was left behind in the to-do list. But yes families do put a lot of pressure on single people to get hitched especially on girls.”
Coming to his personal life, Eijaz who was last in a relationship with Canadian singer Natalie Di Luccio says he has no idea when he will get married. Now even thinking about the same has become tough.”
