Playing Kabir in Laut Aao Trisha pysched me up - Eijaz Khan

Eijaz Khan, who is playing a light hearted role in Sony TV show Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, says the genre was something which made him take it up. “ For when I played a complex cop in my last show on Life Ok Laut Aao Trisha, I invariably carried him home, which took a toll on my personal life. I would remain edgy and even snap at my then girlfriend Natalie Di Luccio and my staff. I guess I started to internalize my character Kabir and the fact that I would do those nightmare scenes of Kabir's wife and child’s death before pack up. I would also read the script before sleeping, which didnt help matters. I continued to carry Kabir’s burden in real life even after the show wrapped up. Eventually I also visited a psychologist to understand what was happening to me and she told me that playing the cop had brought about certain repressed childhood  memories  to the  fore.”

Eijaz has been around TV and film for many years now, doing shows and films like Kkavyanjali, Kyaa Hoga Nimmo, Tanu Weds Manu and Zilla Ghaziabad etc.

“Friends would tell me why are you talking your job seriously and you should chill etc.? But since this was my best performance till date, I really worked over time to play Kabir as naturally as possible. I started  to dress like him and wear a watch like he  would carry on his wrist. Hence when the new show came my way, I grabbed it with both hands for the genre was such that it would keep a smile on my face. Also the character is so principled & so grounded that I just had to say yes .”
