...took place in the beginning of November 2012 – the event was truly worth a watch – the TV fraternity turned up in its entirety, all super enthusiastic and dressed to kill… the bonhomie in the community, the passion for the profession, the loyalty to one’s own was so inspirational to see… It’s times like these that make me realize how fortunate I am and how wonderful it is to be part of this industry. 

Further, the show itself was phenomenal, in every sense of the word… from elaborate set design to ornate costumes to scintillating enactments to the enthusiasm of the crowds… it was all remarkable, exceptional & outstanding.

Details of the event including the stars that attended, the awards that were presented and the performances are all covered in this issue. For those of you who missed the remarkable telecast on STAR TV, I will inform of you the repeat telecast dates but until then make sure you don’t miss any of the features covered herein.

Diwali too was a nice dhoom-dharaka of an affair… the customary card parties, festivities & celebrations. This was followed by a emotional whirlwind of sorts during Bala Saheb Thackeray’s last few days of illness and his consequent death… May he rest in peace. Thereafter came the typical lull, which was only slightly uplifted with the execution of Ajmal Kasab to be followed by moods of fear from imminent retaliatory attacks that are now being anticipated.

Nothing new or of much consequence happened in telly-land – it was the everyday shows on the entertainment channels, the routine debates on the news channels and the airwaves weren’t abuzz with anything different.

And, on that note, I am going to bid you adieu for this year. I wish you and your families a very merry Christmas, an exciting New Year and a stupendous holiday season.
