Celebrating togetherness and family ties, COLORS flagship show Sasural Simar Ka achieves a new high with the completion of its 500th episodes. The tale of two sisters, Simar and Roli who step in to the same sasural by fate, Sasural Simar Ka started its journey in April 2011, instantly capturing the hearts of the viewers. The endearing characters and their chemistry along with the portrayal of true sisterly love were instrumental in making Sasural Simar Ka the most popular show, soaring high and has since then managed to retain its top position at the 7.30 pm slot on COLORS.

Portraying the simple bond between two sisters, the show has, over the past two years, enthralled viewers with several characters and fascinating storyline.  Simar (Deepika Samson), Roli (Avika Gor), Prem (Shoaib Ibrahim), Siddhanth (Manish Rai Singhania) and Mataji (Jayati Bhatia) become household names with people relating more to their characters than the real star. Mataji’s dominance, Simar’s level headedness and Roli’s zest has made them the formidable trio ruling television.

Caught in the turmoil of relationships, family values and principles Simar and Roli’s lives have been marred with challenges but their greatest strength lay in their love and belief in each other. Riding on the back of family emotions, relationship dynamics and an engaging storyline, Sasural Simar Ka gave its viewers a flavor of a wholesome family drama. With the show now reaching the 500 episodes landmark, it will continue to take the story of Simar and Roli’s sisterly love forward filled with new twists, turns and challenges to triumph.

On touching the 500 episodes mark, COLORS weekday programming head Prashant Bhatt said, “Based on audience reactions and the consistency with which Sasural Simar Ka has been ruling the charts and crossing the mark of 500 episodes is a huge boost for us. Talking about this incredible journey, Deepika Samson aka Simar said, “From  shooting the first episode till now, it has been quite a journey for me as Simar and Deepika. Speaking about her experience, Jayati Bhatia aka Mataji said, “Although I play the matriarch in the show, who everybody respects and reveres, off screen we share a great chemistry with each other. We have always been a family, on and off the screen and that is the biggest reason for our success.” Elaborating on her experience, Avika Gor stated, “The show has helped me evolve as an actor and uncover the mature side of me. It was quite challenging initially to make the shift from playing the bubbly, chirpy teenager to a responsible, demure bahu. But with a lot of support from the entire cast as especially Deepika, Jayatiji and Himaniji. I am glad that I have been able to do justice to Roli’s character.”

Following the 500th episode, the current track will see Simar fighting for her life after being shot by Veeru. While doctors have given up on her, Roli is determinant that her sister will sail through this hard time and the whole family is praying for her betterment. With Roli and Siddhant’s marriage is going through a tough time, there will be a big turning point in their life. What will happen to Simar? Will Roli and SIddhant’s marriage surivive the test of times? Will Veeru come back ?
