"We should have the ability to laugh on ourselves..."- Arbaaz Khan

Comedy Circus on Sony Entertainment Television has managed to tickle the funny bones of viewers for almost a decade now and as reported earlier, Sohail Khan is all set to pave way for brother Arbaaz Khan as a judge. We got in touch with ‘Dabangg’ director Arbaaz Khan who will be seen as a judge on the season of ‘Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe’ along with Archana Puran Singh

What was the reaction of your family when you decided to appear on television?
They were very excited and also happy. Television is a very powerful medium and has a wider reach. I am not the first one who has ventured into television. I am looking forward to this.

Did the show come to you because Sohail got busy?

I was always open to do something on television. Many things came my way, but they didn`t excite me. When Sohail got busy, they wanted somebody to replace him. They have their own parameters and they felt I fit the bill.

How would you feel when the comedians will crack jokes on you?
I think I have got enough humour and I have the capacity to take jokes on myself and that`s the reason I am here. One has to understand that the intention is not to harm you. If we have the ability to sit on the judge`s chair and enjoy jokes cracked on others, we should have the ability to take the jokes on ourselves.

What kind of judge are you? Do you laugh out loud as your co-judge Archana Puran Singh?

Archana has her own style and personality. She reacts on acts differently, which is her USP. There are many acts where jokes are made on her and she takes it very sportingly. I have my own style to react. I will represent myself the way I react in real life. But yes, I will not laugh on the jokes which do not tickle my funny bone.
