World Children Expo 2013 - 2nd edition of the out-and-out Kids Extravaganza to be held in May


ZeeQ, India’s 1st Edutainment channel plans an array of activities to engage kids and parents at World Children Expo 2013

This is where Learning, Entertainment and Commerce come together

India, April 24’ 2013 – An action packed Second edition of India’s biggest expo for kids -‘World Children Expo 2013’, will be held in Gurgaon from May 17-19’ 2013. Conceptualized by Creative Children Media Pvt. Ltd. and presented by ZeeQ, WCE 2013 is a platform showcasing children centric consumer brands from across businesses related to children in the age group of up to 15 years.

WCE 2013 will feature prominent brands from entertainment, education, technology, clothing & apparel, food & beverages, healthcare, toys & FMCGs industry.

ZeeQ, India’s first and only edutainment channel created for kids in the age group of 4-14 years is the Presenting sponsor for World Children Expo 2013. The multi-platform channel which launched in November 2012 is a one-stop content platform for every child’s growth and development and is based on the core principle of ‘What is Right for the Child’.

In order to strike a chord with its target audience,  ZeeQ has lined up an array of interactive and engaging activities for kids and parents at the 2nd World Children Expo over the weekend of May 18-19’ 2013.

The ZeeQ Kid Zone will have exciting games like Balloon Maths, Puzzle games, Larger than Life Scrabble, English Wordmatch and Multiple Intelligence quiz. ZeeQ will also screen some of its educative programmes like Amar Chitra Katha Heroes, Sid the Science Kid, Teenovation, Science with Braincafe, Cyberchase, Weekly Wrap, etc. What’s more; winners of each of the games will be in for loads of gifts and surprises!!

Microsoft Interactive Entertainment is the official gaming partner for 2nd World Children Expo. They would be setting up a game zone for kids at the KiddZone over the weekend of May 18-19’ 2013.

Anshu Mor, Business Group Head, Interactive Entertainment Business, Microsoft India, shared, “World Children Expo is one of the most vibrant platforms for children’s brands in India cutting across all genres. Microsoft is delighted to leverage the opportunity to showcase the upcoming technology it has to offer to children. Through the Interactive Entertainment Business which comprises the gaming console Xbox 360 with Kinect, Microsoft aims at establishing an environment of playful learning for children. Kinect has been the anchor for Microsoft when it comes to children because of its ease of use and the interactive fun element inherently built into the product. Our focus for Kinect today is how we can use it to transform games and entertainment on Xbox 360. Through Kinect, we offer games and experiences from the biggest names in entertainment, fitness and learning.”
 

Also, the leading global research consultancy TNS has partnered with WCE as their Research and Knowledge Partner. It is WCE’s endeavor to provide insights about children and this unique partnership with TNS is a major step in that direction.

Rima Gupta, Executive Director, TNS Consult, says “India is one of the youngest countries and for us as marketers, understanding teenagers is very key. We are pleased to partner with WCE to develop and share a customized report on Indian teenager’s lives, hopes & attitudes. This will provide insights for both marketing and communicating with young ones”
 

WCE 2013 has been divided into 3 sections –
 

(a) WCE - The Business Conclave - It is a true gathering of the best minds in this sector where ideas and issues are debated which are related to children and their needs.  It will take place on May 17, 2013 at The Crowne Plaza, Gurgaon.
 

The speakers will be discussing and talking on the topics, which are essential for growing kids industry. The main key points will be Responsible Marketing to Kids, The Foods Businesses, The Digital Forum, Edutainment Panel and most importantly From The Heart Panel.


From The Heart Panel is a special panel where industry leaders come and speak about how their personal experiences with children have given them insights and ideas on how have children evolved over the years as a consumer group.


(b) Kidzooka - India's first ever recognition awards for children centric brands, which will take place on the eve of May 17, 2013 at The Crowne Plaza, Gurgaon.

It will see an impressive line of Brands competing for India’s first and only Children centric awards. Here they will honor 25 different categories from the world of films, entertainment, sports, games, F&B, innovations, apparel & retail, etc.


(c) WCE - The KiddZone - A carnival like expo area for kids to be held over the weekend of May 18-19 (10 am- 7 pm) at The Island, Ambience Mall, Gurgaon.

It will be a 2 day carnival like environment, wherein kids & their families will get to meet & greet their favorite cartoon characters like Doraemon and Chhota Bheem and get pics clicked with them. There will be Photo Quiz By Tiny Love, Workshops By Yellow Bumble, ZeeQ Fun Zone organising engaging games and activities, Painting Corner, Launches and Products on Sale, Workshops for Parents and Kids, Gifts and Prizes to be won, and a lot more fun and learning activities. Last Year, over 20,000 people attended the expo.

On one hand, WCE will be an action-packed entertaining weekend for kids & families and on the other it is a powerful business-to-business and business-to-consumer showcase, providing leading and upcoming children brands three days of promotions, networking and reach-out opportunities.
